Second time on campsite plus some information
Hi this is the second time I have spent a few days on a campsite with the luxury of running water and electricity must admit that it does feel nice.
I'm on the same site has last year the redpost inn and tourist park on the A3072 between Bude and Holsworthy post code EX23 9NW .
This place is well worth a visit good food, ale, and the site is fine it's quite and has a relaxed atmosphere also the charges are very attractive. www.redpostinnholidaypark.co.uk
While am here is will be charging all my battery operated items my Drill , torch, radio, shaver, cameras, computer and both of the vans batteries. Surprising how much we rely on battery operated items all these items can of course be charged by the vans charging system but you would have to lay some miles down on the road.
The cost of the fuel to do this against the cost of a three nights stay here is minimal !.
In September I will be posting a spreadsheet with all my living costs involved in living on the road this will include a first time set up cost for bedding, mattress towels ,pots and pans .
Essential items to me are as follows_ tax, insurance, mot, repairs, fuel, food, laundry, parking charges, campsite fee's, household items ( consumables ). I will not be including comfort and luxury items or personal items as I feel these are not essential also I will not be including the cost of the vehicle it's all about what it's costing to live the life while travelling around on the road. Please remember this costing will be a personal one and will vary depending on your own needs.
I have a computer a camera a video phone and I pad none of these are to me essential item's just comfort items.
You might consider the above items along with a TV ,microwave, washing machine, the add on awning as essential we all deffer in needs and interests also the choice of your base vehicle plays a big part in this.
Im not telling anybody this is how you do it !!. I'm showing you how i do it!

bad night in layby
Hi all
had a really uncomfortable night in my chosen layby right from the start cars with solo male occupants kept parking getting as close as possible to the front ,back and sides of the van even at times blocking the layby.
Now we are what we are agree ? I have no problem with that but I do have a real problem with the way some seem to think it's okay to pester others going about there own business lucky enough for me I'm not overly scared of this type of situation.
But some of these guys are big lads that must work out seven days a week in the gym so a bit of sensibility is needed to handle any given situation that my arise.
What would you do f and gef at them, pull a knife out, or point your air rifle at them or be tactful and polite or just move on and find another spot.
Well I chose this life style of wildcamping and I will have to share the laybys with these short of people just as I must with the HGV drivers I think the best way to defuse any situation that may arise would be to be polite and tactful when giving a response to an a propision that may cause you offence.
That's not to say the way I have said that I would deal with it would be my chosen method! seriously a few years ago I would of jumped in fists flying hell for leather and not been to worried about the outcome.
At the end of the day if your polite it would more than likely be in your favour and rejuse the chance of your vehicle or in my case my home from any revenge attack.
I did take note of all the car registration numbers and have two video cameras running .

on the move down south
1. Hi all having spent the end of may and the start of June on and around rutland water mostly with the wildcamping.co.uk annual meeting.
At the Lyndon top campsite which is a fantastic venue for a meet we had nothing but sunshine and nice sunsets and with over one hundred vans from the wild camping community we also had nothing but fun.
I did however get bogged down and was in need of a tow out which i was very glad of as the weather started to change and the rally field was vevy fast becoming sodden.
While there i visited the buitiful Town of Stamford, Oakham , along with Manton village and the buitiful upper Hambleton.
I have now started to make my move southwards stopping at Corby which was a waste of time really then moving on to market Harborough onto the A6 for Kettering finely stopping in a layby for the night on the A43 a mile short of North Hampton .
Plan for tomorrow is to travel the A43 Stop at Towcester then maybe into Bicester onto the A4095 to Witney then onwards to Cirencester all this might and no doubt change once I get moving.
