A nice walk and a bad meal

I have had a few good days in and around the town Bodmin it’s not a bad place for a weekend visit not sure if I could cope with a longer stay. I managed the rather hard walk from the Jamaica Inn up to Brown willy which is a modest 419 meters high not finding the right path up made the walk more difficult and probably a little longer than necessary.
Still a good day out though that’s something else I can put on my done that list the walk back down having now found my bearings was a lot easier and knowing the pub was waiting for me at the finish line one happy man.
Calling at my van before going on to the pub I noticed that a wheel trim was missing bit annoying, but I am parking up next to Halfords in Bodmin later on so getting some new one won’t be a problem. So off to the pub for a well-deserved pint and some food
This is the third time I’ve eaten here and for the third time, I’ve been unimpressed I find the food well just for want of a better word Shite.
Undercooked, overcooked veg not drained rice and spaghetti not drained so it’s all sitting in water. I’ll not be eating here again.
The beers good though! am not a fussy man when it comes to my food some of my girlfriends couldn’t boil water never mind cook.
This is just my opinion others might enjoy going back time and again ok rant over back to my Guinness. Now going back to the wheel trims
It was a problem the new ones they are stocking at Halfords are a lot shallower than mine and will not fit over the nuts on the wheel back into Halfords for a refund.I spent four nights around Bodmin time to move travelling up the A30 and stopping in one of the picnic spots that I used on the way down there was my wheel trim lay in the curb how lucky was that.

Food At The Jamaica Inn.

A few Weeks Away from The Cameras and working on the van

Had a great few Weeks away from the cameras and video in Tintagel, Boscastle,Crackington Haven and on the moors no photos or videos just me having some me time basically just wandering around enjoying the sights Weathers warming up nicely now so I'm looking forward to getting my shorts and  hiking boots and off along the cliff tops to catch some of these beautiful views along this coastline. It will be nice to see the spring lambs in the fields again along with the horses freely roaming on the moors I have been told about some wild goats roaming around as well.

WORK TO DO ON THE VAN.
I have been given three dozen  good carpet tiles  free of charge, I will be using these to insulate some of the cold spots in the van namely the sides and bottoms of some cupboards that are in the kitchen area for some reason they have not been lined, with them being just fibreglass there is no insulation so act has a fridge in cold weather. One of the cupboards is where a store most of my batteries or equipment that contains them.

I did notice the cold drafts a bit more this year hopefully, all these little niggles will be rectified for next year, along with redoing two half-length cupboards into a full-length wardrobe.Another job i have done is reroute the shower/sink drainage pipes most of the pipes had bends in them and in places where going up over the chassis so pockets of water were settling in the lower bends.
With the drainage being gravity feed it needs a good strong flow of water to keep it moving down the pipes.

Other things on the agenda this year A full service, and the exhaust system will be in need of replacing before the next MOT and I will be looking at checking / resealing all the openings and seams on the van

Motorbikes on davidstow start of the egg run.

Bank Holidays what a bloody nightmare they are and in fact for me they always have been, nothing could possibly be worst than yourself, your missus  and no doubt the mother in law plus a gaggle of  screaming bloody kids sat in a long traffic jam trying to get somewhere.

And what for you will no doubt park up pay an extortionate parking fee run around the shops buying all sorts of over priced  plastic crap then go and stuff  yourselves with over priced fish and chips.

Now lets find something to do we could go on the beach but its pissing down lets go in the amusement arcade another bucket full of money wasted in no time .

what now lets go in the family pub there be things for the kids to play on should,nt cost that much and we can have a few drinks  another bucket full of money gone.

Another run around the shops buying even more crap now everybody wants the toilets but there a mile up the road mother in laws bunion's are hurting and she already pissed herself.

Two of the kids have puked up and the little ones nappy is overflowing  I know lets go into mac Donald's get a couple of burgers for the kids and use the toilets there.

Mac Donald's is full with everybody else that you shared the traffic jam with on the way down all carrying loads of over priced plastic crap all buying a couple of burgers and coffee to help wash down the fish and chips they had at the same cafe as you.

Its a shame it pissed down all day and the suns just coming out now but we will have to get back to the car and try beat the traffic jam on the way home , not a bloody chance mate your be facing a hundred mile jam know matter which way you go the kids will be puking up all the way home the youngest will be screaming her tits off  while the wife and the mother in law will be bitching about you and your driving and saying you should of turned off at the junction you just passed while crawling along at 3 mile per hour.

Happy Bank Holiday.

I however Spent a nice but cold easter on and near the deserted Davidstow airfield I'm so glad that i did because on Sunday morning i was awoken by the wonderful sound of revving motorbikes.
To my surprise, it was the meeting point for the Moorlanders MCC 20th Egg run more than 600 motorbikes and trikes turned up this really did make my Easter weekend. And to top it all a bloody big helicopter landed a stone's throw from my motorhome honestly it was the size of a block of flats.
