Not Using It Then Get Rid.

They say when your in a motorhome or on a barge if you have something that you have not used in three months then its time to clear the stuff out.
Which of course makes good sense when storage space is at a premium so am going through my cupboards one by one after, giving clothing and odds and sods to the local charity shops.
I'm now left with the dilemma of thinning out my fishing gear and the very good collection of fly fishing books that i am carrying around with me.
I have sea fishing gear, spinning gear, fly fishing gear and Fly tying stuff that has not seen the light of day in near all the time I've been on the road. Plus a lot of tools and stock that needs to be moved I not really want to give it away at the car boots but this seems to be the only choose i have at this moment.
No sooner is one bank holiday over their is another looming while writing this the travelling fairground is going past heading somewhere.
Also down here there is an up and coming Paloma Faith concert at The Wyldes in Bude Lower Exe Farm Week St Mary which I'm thinking of going too if tickets are still available No doubt the roads which are very narrow will be quite heavy with traffic.
We have had some very bright warm and still days over the last week ideal weather for flying a drone, its a shame the camera on mine is broke and to fix it or replace it would cost the same as buying a new one. I'm not prepared to pay out that sort of money again  I only bought two new batteries for it a month ago. So looks like I will be doing a car boot soon that and load of fishing gear sea and fly fishing along with a good few Fly fishing books its all dead weight and taking up space in the van, I have not used any of the gear for near 12 months now.
Got a Mattress Topper this week as the mattress is now 4 years old and just starting to show signs of wear the topper is surprisingly good the extra comfort you get is more than welcome and outweighs the cost.
Been in Tintagel for a few days weathers been brilliant all week I normally combine my trips to Tintagel with a visit to the launderette but sad to say this has now closed the only other here is on the headland campsite near the Castle Hotel.
So it looks like I will have to start using the one in Bude again which will mean fewer visits to Tintagel,  I have been thinking of moving on soon anyway.

Life without Sunshine and seeing in black and white

Well, that was the best weekend weather-wise we have had in a long while unfortunately, the sea mist along the coastline was, to say the least very thick and heavy.
A few miles inland it was fine and me working on my suntan which was quick and severe, like a lot of people nowadays I suffer from sunshine deficiency and get very depressed when indoors.

I found out how bad this problem was at the beginning of my working life when working in a factory and suffering frequent bouts of severe depression,  nervous breakdowns and quite a lot of hospital stay-overs.
I went through brain scans years of taking strong antidepressants then not being able to stay in rooms with the doors shut I was eventually passed over to a psychiatrist all to no avail.
It was myself that realized that when outside in fine weather I was a totally different person with a much brighter and friendlier attitude to others and for once in my life I actually liked myself.
It has taken over forty years for me to come to terms with an Illness which could have been solved easily and would have allowed me to live a normal and healthy life. I went through most of my life seeing things in Black and White, in other words, dull and boring. what-is-black-and-white-thinking/
I was unhappy, unapproachable, unfriendly, uncooperative, unlikeable, selfish, and lonely and worst of all unloveable and not able to give love and respect to others.

The outdoors is lives TV don't miss it get out and enjoy it before it's too late.

My life now is bright and colourfull I have respect for others and for myself, the only thing i cannot do is hold an attachment to other people if this is the only legacy from the illness am happy.

May Bank Holliday

Day 1
It's an absolutely beautiful morning and the weather forecast is good for the next two days so I will be making the most of it.
I have been up since 6.00am checking the seals and trims on the outside of the van for any signs of damage that might be a problem come next winter.
I have also checked the solar panel fitting the skylight opening and anything else that might be a problem in the future.
As the van is coming up to a grand old age of 19 years I think it's worth checking over there is one or two problems that need addressing soon and that's to do with resealing the roof joints.
Now is it worth patching up or better having a full job done resealing the lot as I have no intentions of getting another motorhome, so need this one to be kept in good order?
Done enough work now time for a bike ride I had noticed a sign for St Clether not far from Launceston my starting point was near Trethorne Leisure Park.
Going down the back roads I came across a pub the Rising Sun  Near (Tregunnon) which has a campsite with hookups at around £10 a night all in it might be worth a try one weekend.
Has some of you know i do not use campsites other than Christmas time and I then only go to the Red Post Inn, anyway back to the bike ride.
After cycling a good few miles mostly downhill I reach St Clether in the middle of nowhere being a bank holiday weekend the church ( St Clether ), St Clether church and chapel, was having a Tomas Hardy weekend festival which was of no interest to me but the tea and cake were.
While there I was told about St Clether Chapel and the sacred well which was a ten-minute walk behind the church set in a nature reserve in a valley it was well worth the visit.
Now the ride back was mostly a walk back for me retracing my route was uphill all the way and it is one hell of a hill.
Day 2
I'm in a very secluded spot at the moment staying out of the way with all the bank holiday traffic on the roads and in most of the holiday towns and spots.
I was a bit pissed off when woken up  in the early hours of this morning by the noise being made by the arrival of two motorhomes  that parked up behind me
I know that we have to make the beds up close cupboards get the kettle on etc, but do we really need to have the radio on at near full blast and start shouting to each other, whats the F??king plans for tomorrow we will have to go F??king early cos every twat and his mother will be out.
Fortunately, they pissed off at about 7.30 just hope they don't invade my park up again tonight. Later on, I Drove to Davidow to watch the Davidstow model aeroplane club  Davidstow Model flying Club flying some of the wonderful planes and helicopters, later on in the evening  I thought I fly my drone over to where the horses were grazing this was about 7.15 pm should get the sun lowish in the sky.
Did all my pre-flight checks as normal and off she went the horses were only about a 1/3nd of a mile away, got five minutes of filming done then moved the drone back towards me about 200 foot and at 40 foot high  I started to film  took my eye off the screen to look at the drone only to watch it fall out of the sky and tumble to earth. On landing, it smashed one of the legs, smashed off the camera and gimble mounting.
I do have the two takes on the micro card the fist take plays ok and no sign of problems the take is on the card but will not play so at this moment I can not see the moment the drone stopped working. Not sure what I'm going to do now have it repaired or sell off the controller and the new battery, the drone is still flyable but of no use to me without the camera.
If i do get another drone it will only be a cheap one.

Went on another bike / walk today starting of on the riverside walk from the bridge in Camelford and walking to advents church passing through some pretty nice little hamlets one called Pencarrow which had a telephone box library see the Video below the hamlet was called Pencarrow I believe there to be another pencarrow down south (Pencarrow Grange or Manor) Pencarrow, up and down another few steep hills back to the van for another afternoon sunbathing.

A Nice Bit Of Sunbathing

scrambled eggs for my breakfast / Nice Day For A Walk

Just fancy some scrambled eggs for my breakfast so thought I would show you how I make mine.

Weather forecast for today was a bright start and then rain by late afternoon, good this means i can go for a decent walk  after my scrambled eggs the start of the day is the nicest part.
So I planned my route starting at Boscastle walking the coast ( about 7 miles ) route to Crackington Haven onto St Gennys and then heading back to Boscastle I did use the alternative route along a stretch of the coastline walk in order to avoid some of the tougher parts of the walk
Looking at the clouds that were now rolling in of the sea I changed my route back by going onto the roads stopping at the post office in the village Sweets, then heading for the B3263 which would take me back to Boscastle.

I got onto the B3263 by this time the rain was belting it down  I was now soaking wet and cold, I did have a good waterproof coat on but was wearing shorts for the second time this year, not a happy man.

After about 2 miles into the walk back leaving about another 2 miles to go a car pulled up and offered me a lift into Boscastle so i would like to say a big thank you to Bob and Tracy and the dog Max which sat on me all the way back to my van.
