My New Toy

 It's funny how time drags when you're waiting for something either to happen or to come through the post, in this case, it's the latter.
I ordered a cigar box 3 string guitar from the very well known, chicken bone john who plays makes and builds some wonderful instruments and has an online shop with everything to do with this type of instrument.chickenbonejohn.

Like a lot of people I order quite a lot from  Amazon which in a lot of cases arrives next day but ordering from small independent one-man bands which i was one of for a good few years its near on impossible to organize next day delivery I think this is down to the smaller amount of parcels that we post out in the working week and not having the workforce behind you if we are sending out  small items that can go first class by royal mail  we just might be lucky.
When you hand over your money the mental clock in your head starts counting down the hours and days, after three days your starting to think its on its way after five days your bitting your nails down to the quick. Then you start checking the order to make sure you have given them your address correctly now its time to go through your e-mails and go over the order time and time again yes were all guilty of this.
Remember the days when we got things from the likes of Kays Catalogue or ordered an item from a shop a few miles from your home on free delivery, we would wait weeks for something to turn up and not give it a second thought.
So has the likes of Amazon, Pc world and Argos to name a few turned us all into impatient must have it now little creatures or is it the thought of handing over your money in one hand and not receiving something back in the other one straight away.

UPDATE
Tuesday was my birthday and at five o'clock i got a message to let me know my parcel was now in the hands of the delivery company.
Wednesday morning i was checking to see where my parcel was using the tracking number along with the UPS app not even finished putting the 25 digit tracking number when a UPS delivery van pulled up in front of my van.
No way it could be for me i thought, how wrong i was i,m now the proud owner of the cigar box guitar in the picture above just have to learn to play it now.
